Who run the world? White, heterosexual men.

I'm sorry, I had to use a Beyoncé remark in my title because it's Beyoncé. She is the epitome of feminism.
Before I start this blog post, I know it is going to upset and piss off many people, especially the ones who read 'The Daily Mail'. I for one do not care, so please click off :)
I would also like to say that I hope I don't start generalising, but if I do then I apologise and I don't mean to. It's just very difficult when you're surrounded by people that are Tory supporters and have a complete different understanding to you. So, I am trying to reach out to my left supporting brothers and sisters who want Jezza Corbyn. I respect you.
So lets get started, shall we?
I'm going to get straight into it and immediately say that this world is controlled, and run by white, straight men. That's just the truth and is so realistic. I would be lying if I were to say that this world is run by Asian women who are transgender. Very 'random' you might say, but it wouldn't be if we saw it in the media. Already, most of you may not understand what I am saying. That is fine, and I'm going to try and explain myself as much as I can.
I use the word 'run' and 'controlled' lightly, for it sounds like heterosexuals dictate others and that's not what I am trying to say. So, please sit down and don't start shouting at your screen just yet. What I am trying to say is, is that we mainly see white, heterosexual men, throughout history, be the more 'superior' side to the race. This has been proven when innocent black lives were tortured by white people physically and mentally in the 17th century, mainly. We see it in the 21st century too. For example, in the media, we see mainly white characters being casted instead of many different other ethnicities. Now don't give me this bullshit that "the director chose to include white people only, and he should be allowed to do that" because he really shouldn't be allowed to do that. By doing this, we as an audience start to normalise the fact that white people are always casted, and then we don't notice any other ethnicities because we are always used to seeing white people having the main role. You may not think that this is an issue, but other ethnicities are not being shown correctly and are not given enough air time. We are supposed to be adapting to equality and progressing through time. However, to me, this is not happening.
I will object to this whole blog post when I start seeing the main role of an action adventure protagonist be a woman, who is also not objectified for mens pleasure. Wouldn't it be even better if that woman was a muslim and GAY. Woah; I am really pushing the boat out. However, I wouldn't be pushing the boat out if this representation was just as equal and aired as much as a white, heterosexual males was. We only think that this is 'not normal' because we are not used to seeing a muslim have a main role. So, why can't we change it? Why are you okay with white people being more superior to others? Yes, white people do have the upper hand (including myself), but lets change it.
I was trying to explain that white HETEROSEXUAL people are more superior in comparison to homosexuals in the western world, not just the eastern. It's really sad to hear that many (not all) straight people think that heterosexuals don't have the upper hand in society. I'm sorry to break it to you, but you do. You only think you don't because you don't want to be responsible, or be part of a race/ sexuality that is taking over others. You aren't. I am just saying that that is the way things are and it's a bitch. I'm not saying that you are actively contributing to this, but you haven't noticed it which is some what quite bad. Heterosexuals will not be the superior sexuality when we start seeing that all sexualities are being portrayed in the media, and when people from the LGBTQ community don't commit suicide because of the views YOUR sexuality have created in the past. I'm talking: having a transgender woman being the main character in a film; a black HUMAN not being a white girls 'black friend' that stands behind them with the other 'less superior' friend. White people are shown to be the hegemonic representation in the media and this needs to change.
A Level has really opened my eyes in the sense that this world is a very unequal place for people that aren't like me, and are like me because of my sexuality. A Levels have allowed me to look deeper into a lot more things and this is most definitely a positive. I explained in my last blog post that some people are thinking that I am too sensitive, but I'm not. I'm actually pointing out the issue that needs to be solved, not encouraged.
I want people to talk about these things instead of pushing them to the side, and not realising them. Otherwise, we're not going to move on and change things for the better. You may think that things are too sad in the news, so you don't want to read about it. However, you are not helping, or contributing to the helpful work that others are doing. Please, please, please pick up a paper (preferably a left wing paper, thank you) and read that shit until you can't cry no more. I want you to feel upset so you feel that this 'bad stuff' needs to change.
